“With Salif Sane, we were able to win a flexible defensive player who knows the Bundesliga for us,” said Schalkes sporting director Christian Heidel: “We are pleased that he has decided for Schalke 04.” Sane said: “I am very happy that I can be a part of Schalke 04 from summer onwards, but until then my full concentration is only on the remaining games with Hannover 96.”
Sane came in the summer of 2013 from the French club AS Nancy to Hannover and has since played 95 Bundesliga games. After the free transfer Mark Uth (Hoffenheim) Sane Schalke is the second new entry for the upcoming season.
